Incense will last twice as long, and Cubone will appear more often when Trainers use it. Special event stickers will be available from PokéStops and Gyms. Timed Research rewards an encounter with crowned Cubone, five Día de Muertos stickers for each team, 2,026 XP, and 2,026 Stardust. Completing event-themed Team Challenges can also lead to a Cubone encounter.
Mexico City adds a Duskull stamp hunt
Along Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City, Trainers can spin selected PokéStops and Gyms to collect stamps through a GO Stamp Hunt. Rewards include encounters with Duskull wearing a cempasúchil crown and a Location Background, as well as Duskull Candy. The activity’s listed schedule gives a 2 p.m. start on Oct. 32, an impossible date, and an end on Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. local time, so its actual start day needs clarification.
Local bonuses cut trade Stardust costs by 50%, extend Lure Modules to three hours, and increase the chance of Buddy assist while catching Pokémon. Mexico City Timed Research offers encounters with Cubone, Duskull, Sunflora, Drifloon, Litwick, Fuecoco, Flabébé, Phantump, Fidough, and Greavard, along with 10 Poké Balls, 2,026 XP, and 2,026 Stardust.
Mexicráneo exhibit runs through Nov. 16
Mexico City’s Mexicráneo skull art exhibit will be on Paseo de la Reforma from Oct. 17 through Nov. 16. Mexican illustrator Vania Bachur designed this year’s exhibit. Visitors can press a button and scan a QR code to find out which event Pokémon matches their Día de Muertos spirit, then encounter that Pokémon in the game.
