The First Descendant Issued 634 Matchmaking Penalties in Its Oct. 16-22 Sweep
The same crackdown also brought 10 permanent bans, split evenly between unauthorized programs and Open Store payment exploitation.

The First Descendant issued 634 separate matchmaking penalties and 10 permanent game bans during its Oct. 16-22, 2026, enforcement period, according to the game’s Steam notice. The figures total 644 affected users.
Uncooperative play accounted for 597 matchmaking penalties, while 37 more followed detections of unusual gameplay activity. Both groups received separate matchmaking penalties.
Five users were permanently banned for creating, distributing, or using unauthorized programs. The other five lost access for exploiting the Open Store payment process to gain unfair benefits.
The previous Oct. 7-15 crackdown counted 503 users, making the latest tally 141 higher, though the earlier period covered nine calendar days instead of seven.
Enforcement was based on player reports and monitoring. Players who encounter abnormal or abusive behavior can report it through the in-game feature. Anyone disputing a penalty related to Open Store payment exploitation can contact Customer Service through the official website’s 1:1 Support option. Chargeback disputes should go to the store that processed the payment.
