Fight Night Is Returning, but EA Hasn’t Shared a Release Window

EA's first post from a new Fight Night account confirmed the series' return 15 years after Fight Night Champion, without offering game details or a release window.

EA has confirmed that Fight Night is returning 15 years after Fight Night Champion, but it has not shared game details or a release window. The confirmation came on October 20, 2026, in the first post from a new EA SPORTS Fight Night account.

The post thanks fans who stayed in the series’ corner and confirms its return. Its image shows red gloves above a ring alongside the words “The fight is never over.” The teaser gives the comeback a visual identity, but not a first look at the game.

Fight Night Champion launched for PS3 in 2011 and remains the series’ latest release. Four earlier entries arrived between 2004 and 2009, bringing the series to five games across 2004 to 2011. All five earned critic scores in the mid-to-high 80s on Metacritic. After Fight Night, EA focused on UFC and released five EA Sports UFC games between 2014 and 2026.

Talk of a Fight Night comeback surfaced on and off for nearly a decade. Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said during a 2020 livestream that he had pitched EA on a new game, pointing to the strong response whenever he mentioned the series on social media.

EA’s earlier College Basketball revival never produced a game because the company could not secure exclusive agreements with participating schools. A franchise announcement alone does not guarantee a finished release.
