MADFINGER Banned 1,239 Cheating Accounts in Gray Zone Warfare’s Update 0.4 Cycle
The cycle tally reached 5,335 bans, and Rogue Ops will add more in-house anti-cheat tools on October 22.

MADFINGER Games says it permanently banned 1,239 accounts confirmed to have cheated in Gray Zone Warfare during a major ban wave in the Update 0.4 cycle. The studio shared that figure and outlined upcoming anti-cheat changes in its Security Report. In July, MADFINGER rejected claims that it was hiding Gray Zone Warfare’s cheating problem and said it used automated and manual anti-cheat measures while denying that it targeted creators for criticism.
From April 1 through October 14, 2026, MADFINGER recorded 5,335 bans in total, including 2,233 permanent and 3,102 temporary bans. The tally also includes 267 bans for harassment and 1,044 for teamkilling.

For Rogue Ops, scheduled for October 22, MADFINGER will add more in-house anti-cheat tools to its existing protections, which include Easy Anti-Cheat and Anybrain. The studio says it has also increased the resources dedicated to detecting cheats sooner, improving prevention, and removing confirmed offenders faster.
Earlier permanent bans and in-game notifications
MADFINGER plans to issue permanent bans earlier in the enforcement process, especially when its most reliable detection tools identify an offense or when the misconduct is serious. Human investigation will remain part of the process, since automated systems can make mistakes and the studio wants to limit false positives.
The studio also plans to publish a Code of Conduct on its website with details on punishable behavior, possible penalties, how to report players, and answers to common questions. It hopes to launch the page soon. In-game notifications are also in development to tell players when action has been taken against someone they reported, though MADFINGER may adjust the feature based on how it works in practice.
Further anti-cheat measures are being developed and evaluated for after Rogue Ops. MADFINGER says no studio can promise to eliminate cheating entirely, but it will keep working to make cheats harder to create and use.
