Gray Zone Warfare’s Update 0.5 Supporter Preview is now live for Supporter Edition owners, and progress made in the preview will carry into the full Rogue Ops release on October 22. Switching Steam to the preview branch locks players out of version 0.4.7.6, according to MADFINGER Games’ announcement.
How to access the 0.5 preview
Access requires the Supporter Edition. Owners of the Base, Tactical, or Elite Edition can upgrade by paying the price difference. To download the build:
- Open Steam and right-click Gray Zone Warfare in your Library.
- Select “Properties,” then open “Game Versions & Betas.”
- Choose the
supporter-previewbranch. - Click “Update” to download version 0.5, then launch the game.
If the branch option or update does not appear, restart Steam. If needed, switch Steam to offline mode, return it to online mode, and try again.
MADFINGER also shared a video walkthrough of the Steam branch change.
What carries over after the partial wipe
Update 0.5 uses a partial wipe. Completed tasks, rank, unlocked apparel, vendor levels, and statistics from Update 0.4 carry over, while equipment, locker contents, and money are reset.

On first entering the preview or the full update, players must choose whether to transfer their existing progression to PvE or PvEvP. The choice is irreversible, and the character’s faction stays the same.
Rogue Ops also allows players to create up to four characters, each tied to a specific faction and game mode. Account wipes are retired, although players can delete one character per week.
The Hideout connects crafting to smuggling
After reaching a rank requirement, players can unlock a Hideout with two production rooms and a utility room. The Laboratory produces medical items, stims, and other chemical products that can be sold or used in more complex crafting. The Electronics Workshop lets players dismantle devices for intel and materials used to make items such as tracking tags and hacking tools, while the Utility Room powers production.
Stations in each room can be built and upgraded with resources found in the world, crafted, bought from vendors, or earned through tasks. Hacking tools can bypass electronic locks on keypads and card readers, opening restricted areas without a key or code. Some locked areas may only be accessible by hacking.
Smuggling gives those production routes a riskier potential payout. Players prepare cargo, collect a contraband backpack from a pickup location, and deliver it to a designated destination before time runs out. Selling products to vendors offers a lower but safer return. Accepting a smuggling task alerts opposing factions and creates Hunting zones where players can try to intercept the delivery. In PvE mode, AI enemies take the opposing side. Successful runs reward money and vendor reputation.
Hotfix 0.4.7.6
Hotfix 0.4.7.6, deployed to the public branch, introduces new pop-ups informing players about the Supporter Preview. No other changes are included.
Rogue Ops also adds new locations, multiple playable characters, seven new weapons, and more than 340 weapon parts. MADFINGER has also outlined changes to AI behavior, the health system, anti-cheat, Combat Outposts, audio, visuals, and optimization. The final changelog is scheduled to arrive with the October 22 release.
