Stranded Deep Is Free to Play Through Oct. 19

The Steam free period began Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. PT and lets players survive alone or with a friend.

Stranded Deep is free to play on Steam from Oct. 15 through Oct. 19, with the offer beginning at 10 a.m. PT on the first day. North Beach Games and Beam Team Games announced the promotion in a Steam notice for The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.

Players can head out solo or with a friend, then choose whether to face the dangers of the Pacific or build a safe haven on one of its islands. Crafting and survival are at the center of the experience, with players working to escape.

Players can also wishlist Stranded Deep 2. Its latest dev blog, Natural Selection, previews two animals to find in the desert, outlines future plans, and discusses the design behind some of the sequel’s tools.
