PUBG’s Dawnbreakers of Rondo PvE Mode Is Scheduled to Begin Oct. 14 on PC

The four-player survival mode sends squads across six Rondo locations to power generators, defend Capacitors, and escape.

SLB: Dawnbreakers of Rondo, the fourth Survivors Left Behind mode for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, is scheduled to open on PC after server maintenance on Oct. 14. Up to four players will fight through six Rondo locations, gathering supplies and crafting gear before holding off waves of enemies long enough to escape. PUBG’s Dawnbreakers mode overview sets the console start for after maintenance on Oct. 22.

The PC event is scheduled to run through Nov. 4 at 00:00 UTC. The console version will continue through Nov. 12 at 01:00 UTC. Update 43.2 had already named the mode, but its full objective and survival details show how this Rondo event plays out.

Players can queue alone, bring friends, or use auto-fill to form a four-person squad. Matches use first-person perspective, and friendly fire is disabled. At the start, teams choose a location and either Rookie or Veteran difficulty. The six locations are Jao Tin: Opera, Yu Garden, Yun Gu: Mall, Rin Jiang: Docks, Stadium, and Jadena City.

Power the Capacitor and hold the line

Each run centers on a Generator and its linked Capacitor. Players follow the cables to find the escape objective, then collect Gas Cans to refuel the Generator and charge the Capacitor. Hungers attack during the charge, so the team must protect the device. If it is destroyed, its charge progress resets. Once fully powered, it sends the signal that lets the squad escape.

Players begin each stage by taking a basic weapon from a Vending Machine. Materials gathered during combat can be spent at Crafting Desks on weapons, consumables, and defenses. Ammunition is unlimited, but rare materials are needed for stronger crafted weapons. Non-weapon supplies carry between stages, giving teams a reason to plan what they spend instead of treating every fight as a fresh start.

Food adds another layer to that preparation. Players can use up to three soups at once: Vegetable Soup improves reload speed and reduces recoil, Pork Stew boosts health and movement speed, and Spiced Broth increases the knockdown effect of hits. Regular and Superior food provide different buff strengths and durations.

Defensive options include automatic Light and Heavy Turrets, a stationary Manned Turret, Barbed Wire, Spike Traps, and a Healing Station that restores health, clears debuffs, and revives downed teammates nearby. Weapon crates supply four Hand Cannons, Flamethrowers, or Grenade Launchers apiece. The new Anti-Personnel Mine attaches to surfaces and detonates when an enemy comes close.

New Hungers change the fight

Returning enemies have new movement and attack patterns, and three new types add different threats. Shield Alpha blocks attacks from the front, so players need to aim for its head or get behind it. Shooter Hunger attacks from a distance with a firearm, while Dog Hunger rushes in low to the ground. The number and types of Hungers vary with the selected difficulty.

Teams can retrieve a fallen ally’s Blue Chip from their deathbox and bring them back at a Recall Station in a Safehouse. Certain Hungers can inflict debuffs, which teammates can remove, and players can share resources for crafting. A surviving squad can also earn stage and difficulty rewards, with opportunities to unlock weapons and equipment for later runs.

Carry-over weapons include the MG3, Mk14, and affected versions of the M249, Groza, O12, and AUG. Equipment options include vests and an Armored Backpack that reduce incoming damage, a Combat Vest that improves healing, a Hauler Backpack that increases carrying capacity, and gear that boosts throwable damage, deployable damage, soup effects, or consumable speed.

Hunger kills count toward the mode rankings only in runs cleared on Veteran difficulty. Event Pass: Dawnbreakers is also scheduled for both platform windows, priced at $3.99, with individual levels available for 100 G-Coin.
