Mafia III’s 10th Anniversary Update Fixes Mission Stalls and Adds PC Options

Steam's anniversary sale discounts Mafia III: Definitive Edition by 80% and The Omertà Collection by 50% through October 22 at 10:00 AM PT.

Mafia III’s 10th anniversary brought a wide-ranging update to its Steam version. The October 8 patch addresses mission progression blocks, crashes, achievement tracking, visual issues, and a long set of interface problems. The sixth Mafia Family Business update also pairs the fixes with franchise discounts and community events planned for later this month. The same anniversary update also brought Mafia III to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at 60 FPS, as detailed in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S 60 FPS upgrade, with eligible digital owners receiving it at no extra cost.

The milestone falls a decade after Mafia III debuted on October 7, 2016. Set in 1968, the game follows Lincoln Clay as he pursues revenge through the mob-controlled city of New Bordeaux.

PC players get a toggle for game-window borders and new FPS lock options at 120, 144, 180, and 240. The patch also improves multi-monitor handling in windowed mode and addresses physics issues that could occur with Vsync enabled in that mode.

The ongoing Steam sale takes 80% off Mafia III: Definitive Edition and 50% off the four-game Mafia: The Omertà Collection. The offers end October 22 at 10:00 AM PT. Discounts are based on 2K’s suggested retail price, are digital-only, and terms apply.

More anniversary activities are planned for later in October. Mafia Discord members who participate at least once in each of three activity types will earn a unique icon commemorating Mafia III’s milestone. A Screenshot Challenge focused on the game is also planned for late October, with selected entries to be featured alongside commentary from Hangar 13 developers. More participation details will arrive in the coming weeks.
