Borderlands 4’s Tough Love Challenge Targets 10 Million Loveless Kills by September 28
Hitting the shared goal would unlock a SHiFT code for the Mint Chipset Vault Hunter Skin, which is usable only by Loveless.
Borderlands 4‘s Tough Love Community Challenge is underway from September 24 through September 28, 2026, with players asked to collectively score 10,000,000 kills while playing as Loveless the Hacker. If the community reaches the target, Gearbox will share a SHiFT code for the Mint Chipset Vault Hunter Skin, which can only be used by Loveless.
Gearbox detailed the event in its Steam announcement. Players can contribute with Loveless’ full kit, including Plague Star’s Contagion effect, the stealth cloak and precision attacks from Visual Paradox Nexus, and the Symbiosis attacks performed through Malignant Construct.
Participation requires the paid Loveless the Hacker DLC. Players who do not own the game can access her through the Borderlands 4 Super Deluxe Edition, which includes both DLC Vault Hunters, Story Pack 1 and Story Pack 2, the Ornate Order Pack, and the Bounty Pack Bundle. Owners of the Standard or Deluxe Edition can purchase the Vault Hunter Pack or buy Loveless individually. The base game is required.
Loveless became available in the September 10 Version 1.10 launch as one part of Story Pack 2, alongside the FL4K and the Last Resort story content. The current challenge gives players a reason to spend more time with the new Vault Hunter before the September 28 deadline.
The reward code requires a copy of Borderlands 4, a SHiFT Account, and an internet connection. It can be redeemed once per SHiFT account through December 31, 2030, with terms applying.
