Gearbox’s June 25 This Week on Kairos post put Borderlands 4 front and center, with Version 1.8 live now and a mix of paid DLC, free endgame content, and cross-platform features for players to sort through.
If you’re also keeping up with the weekly rotation, Directive-0 is still the boss to beat on this week’s reset.
Version 1.8’s biggest additions
The headline update is Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For, which is now available as paid DLC for $5.99. Gearbox is also selling Vault Card 3 separately for $5.99, so players can pick up the new narrative content, gear, cosmetics, and rewards without buying the whole bundle.
On the free side, Takedown at Hadron Abyss is open to all Borderlands 4 players. The new endgame challenge sends players into an underwater research station packed with mutated horrors and aquatic apex predators, and it ends with a fight against the Child of Terramorphous. Circle of Slaughter is also back, giving players another wave-based gauntlet to chew through.
Cross-Platform Saves are live as well, so players can keep their Vault Hunters moving across the platforms where they own Borderlands 4 through a free SHiFT account. Gearbox points players to the SHiFT Account guide and the Cross-Platform Saves Support page for setup details.
The post also links to the June 25 update notes and a deeper breakdown of the new content, which is where the next wave of Kairos updates starts to come into view.
What is coming next
The roadmap shown in the post points to Bounty Pack 4: Murders & Acquisitions on July 30, with Story Pack 2 following in early September. That story pack will bring in Loveless, the Hacker, alongside new missions, a new map zone, and additional gear and collectibles.
Community roundup
The weekly post did not stop at updates and DLC. It also highlighted a Reddit discovery from Express_Comedian7836, then rounded up a few fan creations and Steam screenshots from creators including artfullysinful and vperion.
For players who need support help, the post also points to a ticket submission guide on Steam Community and a walkthrough for attaching DxDiag and MSinfo files.
