PAYDAY 2 Update 248 Adds Audio Controls and Weapon Fixes

The 1.7 GB patch also raises the Arbiter Grenade Launcher's basic fragmentation ammo damage from 480 to 500.

PAYDAY 2 Update 248 is now available with a 1.7 GB download that adds an option to change the output audio device, addresses crashes, and cleans up several weapon problems. The patch also arrives alongside the released Under The Hammer Heist DLC.

Audio settings receive one of the update’s clearest player-facing additions. Players can now choose their output audio device directly, while a crash connected to loot bags in VR has also been fixed.

Interface changes cover two separate issues. Mission-ending dialogue should no longer arrive late after a player goes down multiple times, and Epic Games Store players should no longer crash when opening the “Edit Game Settings” menu in a lobby.

Weapons receive several sound and equipment corrections. Flamethrower audio now stops correctly when tap firing, enemy weapons should no longer be too loud, and AK weapon group parts using the “McShay Mod Pack” should display their gadget mounts. The Arbiter Grenade Launcher also receives a damage increase that lets basic fragmentation ammo one-shot light SWAT units with a direct hit on higher difficulties.

Art Gallery and Framing Frame Day 1 receive a visual fix for props disappearing through a distant doorway when players stand inside the storage room. The Commando 553 Rifle also gets a correction for the skin pattern UVs used with the “Enhanced Grip.” The full Steam changelog is reproduced below.
