SAND: Raiders of Sophie Update #10 Adds a Threat System for Trampler Hunters

The patch pairs new players together for their first couple of matches, adds report numbers, and fixes a major cause of Voyage server crashes.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie Update #10 is live, and its biggest addition gives crews a visible reason to think twice before destroying every Trampler they find. Hologryph and tinyBuild Games introduced the Threat mechanic alongside matchmaking changes, reporting improvements, server stability work, and a long list of fixes in the Steam update announcement.

A crew that destroys two Tramplers during a Solo expedition becomes a Threat. The threshold rises to three Tramplers for Duo, Small Crew, and Large Crew expeditions. If a crew captures other Tramplers, all Tramplers connected to that crew receive the Threat status as well.

Every other player in the session can see marked Tramplers, giving the mechanic a clear warning function without hiding the information from potential rivals. A crew can lose its Threat status by losing all related Tramplers, extracting, or using a radio inside the municipality building.

New players get a separate early matchmaking experience

Update #10 also changes the opening matches for new players. Their first couple of matches will pair them with other new players, giving them time to learn the expedition loop before facing more experienced crews.

Reporting now produces a report number as well. Players can provide that number with extra information through Discord or Customer Care, although the developers will not share the outcome of an individual report.

On the server side, the update fixes one of the main causes of Voyage servers crashing over time. Certain game objects and colliders could increase memory usage and add more work for the physics engine. Several turret and ammunition problems are fixed too, including issues with changing ammo in the Outlaw control scheme, loading uncommon ammo into the Experimental 80 mm turret, losing loaded ammo when packing a turret, and extracting Low Heat 40 mm Turret Ammo.

The patch also addresses camera corruption after using Orbital Strike before interacting with a Turret or Control Panel while Smuggler weapon handling is enabled. A brief freeze when closing the Players List is fixed as well, an issue previously documented in Update #9’s patch notes.
