SAND: Raiders of Sophie has received a detailed explanation of its latest BattlEye ban wave. The developers said the anti-cheat sweep took place during the week of July 25, 2026, and affected players may notice the ban when they try to enter an expedition.
According to the official Steam announcement, a banned player can still access the game normally until the expedition-loading stage. The account is then kicked while attempting to enter the expedition. The team also said it plans to make ban messages clearer in a future update.
How to appeal a possible false positive
Players who believe they were banned without cheating should contact BattlEye directly through its official contact page. The developers asked affected players to include their Steam ID with the appeal, saying those reports can help identify false positives in future ban reviews.
The team said its analysis found the ban wave to be at least 97% accurate. It described the remaining 3% as possible false positives or cheaters that its own systems had not yet detected. That figure comes from the developers’ analysis and was not presented as an independent audit.
Partial Steam ID list published
The announcement also includes a long list of banned accounts. Only the final four digits of each Steam ID are shown for privacy. Players can compare those digits with the list, but the developers warned that repeated login attempts after a ban could make the penalty harsher.
Anyone who believes their account was caught by mistake should avoid repeated login attempts and submit an appeal to BattlEye with the requested account details. The team has not yet provided a date for the update that will improve the in-game ban messaging.
