Muramasa: Revenant Blades will arrive on Steam and PlayStation on February 4, 2027, giving the Japanese-inspired action RPG a firm release date early next year. The package will include six playable stories, high-definition visuals, a new English voiceover, and a classic mode built around the original adventures. The game already has a Steam store page, although the announcement did not include pricing or system requirements.

Six stories set in supernatural Japan
The game will combine Muramasa: Rebirth, originally released on PlayStation Vita, with its Genroku Legends side-story content in one package. Its setting is Japan during the Genroku era, where supernatural forces surround six protagonists with separate goals and personal stories.
Kisuke, Momohime, Okoi, Gonbe, Arashimaru, and Rajaki each bring a different journey to the campaign. Their stories can be played in any order, with plots involving a cursed sword, revenge, and an unwavering pursuit of love.
High-definition visuals and a new English voiceover will update the presentation for returning players and newcomers alike. A classic mode will also contain the original gameplay versions of Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Genroku Legends, presented with enhanced graphics.
Combat leaves room for experimentation
Normal attacks flow into combos, while dashes and jumps let characters move across the ground and through the air. Parries can stop enemy strikes, and precise timing can even deflect ranged attacks.
Special skills add more options without making the controls difficult to grasp. Single-button attacks can deliver powerful blows, wide-area moves, or ranged strikes. Players can assign up to three mastered skills for ground and aerial combat, then swap between them with the directional pad.
Using a skill repeatedly increases its potency, giving players a reason to test different combinations instead of settling on one setup. Kisuke and Momohime can forge swords with new abilities through the swordsmith Muramasa. Okoi, Gonbe, Arashimaru, and Rajaki can train to learn skills and create charms for their forms or weapons.
Forging and training both require souls collected from defeated enemies. That progression system lets players improve stats, unlock weapons, and shape fighting styles around the abilities they use most often.
Classic adventures and extra viewing modes
Beyond the main stories, Muramasa: Revenant Blades will include the Scroll, a gallery of illustrations, a Character Viewer for examining animations and backgrounds, and a Replay mode for revisiting events from the journey.
With six campaigns, sword forging, skill training, and a classic mode built around the Vita releases, the February 4 launch will offer both a new way to experience Muramasa and a preserved version of its earlier adventures.
