NVIDIA Releases GeForce 616.92 WHQL Driver Ahead of 007 First Light’s September 15 Path Tracing Update

The release notes list 3 general fixes and no gaming bug fixes for NVIDIA's latest Game Ready driver.

NVIDIA released the GeForce Game Ready 616.92 WHQL driver with support focused on the upcoming Path Tracing update for 007 First Light. The driver is available now, while the visual update for IO Interactive’s Bond game will arrive on September 15, 2026. NVIDIA has now released the GeForce 616.92 WHQL driver ahead of the update detailed in 007 First Light’s September 15 Path Tracing update.

The driver’s main game-ready target is the September 15 update, which will add Path Tracing to 007 First Light. The scheduled feature was previously confirmed for the game, and NVIDIA’s release gives GeForce users a driver prepared for the new rendering option.

Support also covers Active Matter, Aniimo, PUBG, and WARDOGS, with NVIDIA highlighting the latest games and updates that use DLSS and RTX technologies.

Players looking for a new batch of game-specific fixes will not find one here. The gaming bug section lists no fixes, while the general fixes address intermittent browser flickering on certain websites, virtual displays failing to appear after an update to driver 616.56, and black screens during Remote Desktop Protocol sessions after the same driver update.

GeForce users can download the release from NVIDIA’s official driver page. The package is aimed at the upcoming 007 First Light update rather than a large collection of new changes, but the display and browser fixes should help clean up a few frustrating edge cases.

NVIDIA also published a trailer focused on 007 First Light with Path Tracing and DLSS 4.5. Its description identifies footage captured on a GeForce RTX 5090 at 4K Max Settings with DLSS 4.5 Multi Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Path Tracing enabled.
