Ready or Not v1.5.2 Adds Mission Editor Controls and 3 Free Weapon Styles

Players can adjust AI behavior, traps, doors, friendly fire, health, and more in single-player or Friends-Only multiplayer.

Ready or Not v1.5.2 adds the Mission Editor, giving players direct control over a wide range of gameplay settings inside existing missions. The feature covers SWAT, suspect, and civilian behavior, along with player health, door traps, locked doors, friendly fire, and other mission rules.

Mission Editor missions can be played alone or in a Friends-Only multiplayer lobby. The feature follows an earlier Mission Editor preview that outlined the system’s focus on changing AI behavior and loadouts without creating entirely new levels.

v1.5.2 also gives every player access to 3 new cosmetic styles for the Triple Weapon Pack weapons, regardless of platform or edition. Players who already had access to those weapons keep their original styles as well as the new MK-V Hard Chrome pistol, 590M Flat Dark Earth shotgun, and M32A1 LSPD Blue rotary grenade launcher.

The update includes a new MK-V animation set, a Mission Editor entry on the main menu, fixes for AI, animations, levels, UI, platform-specific crashes, and several known issues that still affect the editor.

Patch Notes for Ready or Not v1.5.2

The biggest addition is the Mission Editor’s two-tier settings system. Basic options cover the most immediate changes, while Advanced options let players adjust deeper mission rules and AI behavior. The changelog also documents update-related mod issues, platform update behavior, and the cosmetic weapon styles available to all players.

Attention Officers,

In the v1.5 Update for RoN we are releasing the Mission Editor, a new feature allowing granular tweaking of gameplay variables within an existing mission, with a particular focus on customizing non-playable characters.

This is our initial introductory launch for the Mission Editor feature; be on the lookout for improvements to Mission Editor in the future, along with more bug fixes and content for the game.

Free New Styles of the Triple Weapon Pack Weapons, Released to All Players:

The Ready or Not Triple Weapon Pack weapons, which were initially added with RoN’s console release, are now being released for free as three new cosmetic styles to all players regardless of platform or game edition. These new free styles are the MK-V ‘HC’ (Hard Chrome) pistol, 590M ‘FDE’ (Flat Dark Earth) shotgun, and M32A1 ‘LSPD’ Blue rotary grenade launcher.

Players who were already eligible for the triple weapon pack weapons previously (i.e. PC platform players, console pre-order owners, or console Triple Weapon Pack owners) will now have access to both the original style and the new style of each of these weapons.

Update Day General FAQ

  1. Q: ‘My game mods broke on PC with this update, why did that happen?’

    > A: When Ready or Not or games in general release updates to the game, the files for the game in areas related to new game content or fixes then changes. If mods were using the old files to function that have since changed to new files, those mods will likely need to update in order to work properly with the new version of the game’s files.

  2. Q: ‘Why does an update download initially seem frustratingly large in data/gigabytes, even when the game doesn’t actually take up that much more storage when the download finishes’

    > A: Game service platforms such as Steam etc. may update games by overwriting the game’s files with the new files to replace it. For example, this means a update download that initially shows as 6GB during the download may actually only expand the game by 1GB in size, since it is largely just overwriting old game files for the other 5GB of data.

  3. Q: ‘Why does an update take so long to download despite my fast internet’

    > A: Other routine checks that a game service platform does to confirm game file integrity on the local storage device (e.g. your hard drive such as a HDD or SSD) during an update download can extend the perceived download size/time.

  4. Q: ‘Why didn’t my game update yet on my console platform?’

    > A: Console platforms do not necessarily support auto-updates, so you may have to trigger the update manually within your game library with an internet connection.
