Apex Legends players with Radeon 9070-series GPUs now have AMD driver 26.10.1 as the fix for the crashes. Respawn’s Oct. 20 Steam notice says the new mainline driver resolves the issue. AMD’s 26.10.1 release notes provide the driver details.
On Aug. 25, affected Radeon RX 9070 XT owners were advised to return to driver 26.7.1 while the crash was investigated, as covered in the initial RX 9070 XT crash notice. A Sept. 3 Apex update then pointed players to AMD’s 26.9.1 driver as a full fix, replacing the rollback workaround. The Oct. 20 notice points to 26.10.1 and extends the stated scope to Radeon 9070-series GPUs.
For affected players, the current guidance is to keep AMD drivers up to date. The notice concerns a PC stability fix, not an Apex gameplay patch, so players unaffected by the crashes have no gameplay changes to apply from it.
