Skate. Season 5 Arrives Sept. 8 While X Games San Van Gets Its Final Week
S.U.M.R. Camp will offer skate.Premium Pass holders early access before 24-hour day passes become available on Oct. 6.

Skate. is entering a busy final week before Season 5 arrives. Update 0.32.0 will go live on Sept. 8 alongside the new season, while X Games San Van remains available through the same day. Full Circle laid out the schedule, upcoming features, S.U.M.R. Camp details, and current fixes in its Sept. 1 Weekly Grind announcement.
Season 5 will add the S.U.M.R. Camp Mega Park, player-created Spot Battles, Underflips, Improved Footplants, and more. The new season’s official overview remains the main place to see the wider content lineup.
Access to S.U.M.R. Camp will begin on Sept. 8 for skate.Premium Pass holders and continue through Oct. 6. From Oct. 6 through Dec. 1, players without skate.Premium can use the Water Taxi to buy a 24-hour day pass for 500 Rip Chips. Those Rip Chips can be earned by completing Challenges and Bounties.
X Games San Van has one week left
X Games San Van is now in its sixth week with Open Access running through Sept. 8. Players have one final week to collect X Coins and earn the event’s rewards before the temporary content leaves. The X Games San Van event details cover the available activities and rewards.
Once Sept. 8 arrives, the Stadium will return to its San Van Open design. Full Circle said it had seen player feedback about the X Games version of the Stadium and asked the community to keep sharing thoughts as development continues.
S.U.M.R. Camp is built for long downhill runs
S.U.M.R. Camp is designed as a destination rather than a single skate spot. The World team started with a readable main route down the mountain, then added branching lines that reward both obvious approaches and more carefully hidden transfers. Its design draws from mountain bike and ski hills, combining downhill speed, jumps, flow, and multiple routes with the structure of a traditional Mega Park.
The park also moves away from the concrete-heavy look of earlier locations. Wood-slat ramps, log supports, trees, and other natural materials help S.U.M.R. Camp feel connected to its mountain setting instead of cutting through it. The team also built hangout areas for small groups and larger gatherings, including places with views across the park.
Speed created its own development challenge. The World and Gameplay teams worked together on the physics, camera behavior, and high-speed grinding needed for a connected downhill zone. A switchback layout and a central waterfall provide landmarks while opening up lines that are not immediately visible from the main path.
The team described more than 30 possible routes down the mountain, although Elliott noted that players may find even more once they begin testing the park’s less obvious transfers. Named areas include Campers Glade, the Fishing Hole, the Nature Walk, Squatch Chilling Park, Tube Mountain, and Upper Ramps.
Brad and Elliott also discussed the park’s layout and visual direction in the S.U.M.R. Camp interview.
The September 8 rollout schedule
The Sept. 1 calendar includes the return of The Weekly Grind and new Weekly Tasks. It also features the S.U.M.R. Camp interview and Week 6 of X Games San Van with Open Access.
Update 0.32.0 notes are planned for Sept. 7, followed by the update’s launch and the start of Season 5 on Sept. 8. Another Weekly Grind interview focused on Underflips is also in the pipeline, while Full Circle asked players what other topics they would like to see covered, including gameplay, tricks, and world design.
Fixes are still being prepared
Full Circle also grouped a wide range of issues under its fixes planned for soon. The work covers trick detection, scoring, movement, animation, social features, interface problems, and several world locations. Examples include footplants incorrectly adding a one-foot grab to later scoring sequences, Gap Distance failing in Block Parties, Block Party rounds counting sequences that began too early, and high-speed grinds detecting the wrong grind type.
Other planned fixes target teleporting to spectated players and getting stuck on an infinite loading screen, missing EA friend options after using Find Skaters, a black screen caused by display mode changes on some PC setups, and store check marks missing from owned items. The list also includes problems with Ripped Jeans, transition landings, Coffin Runouts, Judo and BS Footplant scoring, the Comms radial menu, neighborhood information, Stadium terrain, and clipping around Brickswich and South Hills. No go-live date was given for this fix batch.
Known issues still under investigation
- Some players cannot export clips in MP4 format. On PC, using WebM format works as a workaround.
- Changing the graphics preset does not update the values shown at the bottom of the Graphics screen.
- Tailslides and Noseslides can fail to register when approaching a ledge from its end, and Wallrides can make the skater flip unnaturally.
- The Smith to Tailslide task can fail to register even when completed correctly.
- The X Games intro video, mission, tasks, and challenges can be missing on a player’s first login.
- Quick Ollie or Nollie into a No-Foot Grab can cause the legs to clip through the board.
- Some flip trick animations look different in the Replay Editor when performed by other skaters, while certain landing animations can make the upper body snap upright.
- Quick Drop can fail to open from the radial menu. Holding
D-Pad Leftprovides a shortcut. - Traffic and pedestrians can appear during Challenges. Turning off Challenge Player Visibility in Settings is the current workaround.
- A Switch or Nollie 360 inward heelflip can rotate the skater when PS5 power saving is enabled. Disabling Power Saver for skate. avoids the problem.
- Resetting a Session Marker placed at a ledge in a drop-in position can leave the skater off-board and freeze camera tracking.
Season 5’s mountain routes and the remaining bug fixes give players plenty to discuss, so share your thoughts in the comments and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
