Path of Exile 2’s 0.5.5 Forbidden Rites Event Will Arrive on September 4 Before the Duelist’s 1.0 Debut
The event league will feature 8 challenges, exclusive rewards, and a Trial of Chaos overhaul, while the Duelist will join the game on December 11.

Path of Exile 2 will receive version 0.5.5 on September 4 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, bringing a new event league called Forbidden Rites. The event will feature 8 challenges and exclusive rewards, while the update will also include a major overhaul for Trial of Chaos.
Grinding Gear Games laid out the plans in its Steam announcement. The studio plans to publish the full 0.5.5 patch notes next week, closer to the September 4 release, so the complete list of changes is still to come.
Forbidden Rites will add 8 challenges
The new event league will give players a fresh set of goals to pursue when 0.5.5 goes live. Alongside its 8 challenges and event-exclusive rewards, Forbidden Rites will arrive with new content connected to the campaign and endgame, including the Trial of Chaos rework highlighted by Grinding Gear Games.

The Duelist is planned for the December 11 full release
The Duelist will not debut with the September event update. Grinding Gear Games has scheduled the class for Path of Exile 2‘s 1.0 full release on December 11, alongside its associated weapon type. The presentation offered a closer look at both parts of the long-awaited addition.
The same video also previews the Forbidden Rites event and the changes coming with 0.5.5.
