Gamescom Opening Night Live Revealed 19 PS5 Games Spanning August 27, 2026, to 2027

The roundup includes dated launches for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Mewgenics, Ananta, and Exodus, while several other games remain slated for 2027 or have no confirmed date.

Gamescom Opening Night Live delivered a packed look at 19 games coming to PS5, with release dates ranging from August 27, 2026, through 2027. PlayStation’s official Gamescom roundup also confirmed a current enhancement update for Crimson Desert, while several other projects still only have a year or a TBC window attached.

Our earlier Gamescom Opening Night Live preview placed the broadcast on August 25. Now, the PlayStation-focused announcements give us a clearer look at the games heading to the console, from cat-breeding tactics and LEGO cities to psychological horror and Arthurian action.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy — August 27, 2026

Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio will release Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on PS5 on August 27. The launch trailer follows Sophia as she faces a mysterious force on Minotaur Island, with the footage touching on the game’s story, exploration, and combat. The Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy trailer arrived just ahead of launch.

Mewgenics — September 8, 2026

Nicalis and McMillen Games will bring Mewgenics to PS5 on September 8. The turn-based cat tactics and breeding roguelite lets players carry genetic traits across several generations, combining abilities, items, and appearances to create their preferred feline team. Its Mewgenics video was presented with the Gamescom roundup.

Aniimo — September 16, 2026

Aniimo launches on PS5 on September 16 from Pawprint Studio. Set in the world of Idyll, the creature-catching RPG centers on discovering Aniimo, transforming into them, and using their abilities while traveling through a living world and forming new bonds.

The Aniimo trailer showed the game’s creature-focused approach and its open-world setting.

Control Resonant — September 24, 2026

Remedy Entertainment’s Control Resonant will arrive on PS5 on September 24. The new Altered State trailer centers on fluid movement, stylish combat, executions, and encounters that can change without warning. Manhattan has been overrun, leaving Dylan Faden as humanity’s last hope.

Silent Hill: Townfall — September 24, 2026

Konami and Annapurna Interactive are publishing Silent Hill: Townfall, with Screen Burn developing the PS5 game. New footage confirmed a first-person perspective and introduced its English cast: Jovan Adepo, Terry O’Quinn, and Kezia Burrows. The psychological horror game is also scheduled for September 24.

Valor Mortis — October 13, 2026

Lyrical Games and One More Level will release the first-person soulslike Valor Mortis on PS5 on October 13. William is trying to learn what happened to him and his former comrades, but his search leads to a conspiracy that puts his sworn orders against a truth he cannot prove.

The Valor Mortis trailer introduced more of the game’s world and characters.

One current update and several late-2026 dates

Crimson Desert — Enhancement update available now

Pearl Abyss’ Crimson Desert received an enhancement update that is available at no extra cost to players who own the base game. The update adds new story moments, expanded voice-over and language support, fresh content, customization options, and quality-of-life improvements.

Path of Exile 2 — December 11, 2026

Path of Exile 2 Version 1.0 launches on PS5 on December 11. Grinding Gear Games is preparing a major release covering the campaign, endgame, character progression, skills, loot, and other parts of the action RPG.

The Path of Exile 2 Version 1.0 trailer marked the date for the game’s next major chapter.

Metro 2039 — February 2027

Deep Silver and 4A Games showed the second gameplay trailer for Metro 2039. Called Renegade, the footage follows The Stranger through first-person combat both above and below ground, while showing more of the weapons, mechanics, atmosphere, and story. The game is coming to PS5 in February 2027.

Ananta — January 15, 2027

NetEase Games and Naked Rain Studio confirmed a January 15, 2027, PS5 launch for the urban open-world RPG Ananta. The new city of Chongxiao draws inspiration from Shanghai and Hangzhou and hides martial arts masters for players to find. Flying cars, hang gliders, new companions, and a kung fu combat system are also part of the game’s latest presentation.

The Ananta release-date trailer confirmed the January launch.

Exodus — April 7, 2027

Wizards of the Coast and Archetype Entertainment will launch Exodus on PS5 on April 7, 2027. The release-date trailer follows Jun Aslan as she joins forces with Salt, an Awakened octopus companion described as both intelligent and dangerous, to protect their home.

The date was announced alongside the Exodus Official Release Date Trailer.

Acornia: Mirror Worlds — 2027

Splashteam and The Arcade Crew are working on Acornia: Mirror Worlds for PS5 in 2027. Alva, a squirrel with bottomless cheek pouches, runs a family dessert shop in one dimension and battles angry spirits in another. The bake-and-brawl adventure combines shop management, dungeon trips, treat-making, and efforts to restore the village of Acornia.

The Acornia: Mirror Worlds trailer introduced the game’s split between sugary business and spirit-fighting chaos.

Turok: Origins — Spring 2027

Saber Interactive’s Turok: Origins is coming to PS5 in Spring 2027. The action sci-fi shooter can be played alone or with friends, with the story focused on mysteries that may hold the key to humanity’s survival.

Ontos — 2027

Frictional Games, the creators of Soma, showed the first gameplay from Ontos, which is coming to PS5 in 2027. The protagonist, Aditi, encounters a disturbing experiment involving a person’s consciousness being transferred to a server of rats. The game will not present every situation as a simple right-or-wrong decision; choices can carry consequences.

The Ontos gameplay trailer offered the first extended look at that premise.

Rainbow Six Tactics — 2027

Ubisoft Paris is developing Rainbow Six Tactics as a single-player, turn-based entry in the Tom Clancy universe. Players take command of the Rainbow unit, recruit elite operators, and lead them through high-risk missions around the world while working to uncover a conspiracy.

Ubisoft introduced the game with its Rainbow Six Tactics debut trailer.

Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons — 2027

Wizards of the Coast and Invoke Studios revealed the first extended gameplay look at Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, a third-person, single-player action-adventure coming to PS5 in 2027. Forbidden magic, open-world travel, and combat with room for creative solutions are at the center of the game.

LEGO Skylines — Release date TBC

Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group revealed LEGO Skylines for PS5. The customizable city builder asks players to create a LEGO city, lay down roads, provide electricity, and build a place where its citizens can thrive. A release date has not been announced.

Exterminauts — Release date TBC

Behaviour Interactive and Proxima Beta revealed Exterminauts with a look at its three-player co-op PvE action. Teams will use weaponized power tools to clear hostile pests, repair infrastructure, rescue valuable assets, and take on dangerous odd jobs in pursuit of a paycheck.

Tides of Annihilation — Release date TBC

Eclipse Glow Studio presented a longer look at Tides of Annihilation, its PS5 action game inspired by Arthurian legend. The footage focused on fast combat, large-scale encounters, and a fantasy world filled with striking locations. The studio has not announced a release date.
