War Thunder’s Next Major Update Will Put More MFDs and HMDs in the Cockpit
The Ka-52 will receive new cockpit pages, while several aircraft will gain radar displays and upgraded helmet-mounted systems.

War Thunder’s next major update will give several aircraft more detailed cockpit interfaces through new Multi-Function Display screens and improved Helmet-Mounted Displays. The changes will cover radar pages, weapon information, flight instruments, target locking, and radar warnings.
Gaijin Entertainment outlined the upcoming cockpit work in a Steam announcement. The preview did not include a release date for the major update.
Ka-52 and fighter aircraft will receive new MFD screens
The Ka-52 will receive several new MFD pages, including a compass display, a flight-instruments page, a weapons screen, and a radar page. These additions should give the helicopter’s cockpit a much clearer way to present important flight and combat information.

Radar pages will also be added to the cockpits of the MiG-21 series, the full F-104 family, Japan’s T-2 and F-1, and the Mirage F1 family. Gaijin said more aircraft will be included, with the complete list planned for publication when the update releases.
RAH-66, JH-7A2, and J-11 pilots will get HMD updates
Helmet-mounted displays are receiving attention in the same update. The RAH-66 will get its own Kaiser HMD, while China’s JH-7A2 and J-11 will receive HMD systems.

American aircraft will also see an upgraded VTAS system. Its display will add target-lock information and radar-warning indicators around the aiming circle, giving pilots more information without forcing them to look away from the central sight.
For now, Gaijin has only previewed part of the cockpit overhaul. The update’s release date and full aircraft list remain unannounced.
