War Thunder Marks US Air Force Birthday With Rare Aircraft and 50% Off Bundles

The promotion runs through September 21, with two limited aircraft, discounted packs, and a 3,000-point decal task.

War Thunder is marking the US Air Force’s birthday with a short promotion that puts two decorated American fighters up for Golden Eagles, cuts the price of selected store bundles, and offers a matching decal task. The event began on September 18 and runs through September 21, as detailed in Gaijin Entertainment’s Steam announcement.

The date commemorates September 18, 1947, when the United States Air Force became a separate branch of the US armed forces. Players can take part in the aircraft offer from 13:00 GMT on September 18 until 13:00 GMT on September 21, while the store discounts and decal task use a slightly earlier 12:00 GMT start time.

Two decorated US fighters are available for Golden Eagles

The limited aircraft appear under USSR > Helicopters > Premium vehicles. Both can only be purchased during the event.

George Bostwick’s P-47M-1-RE costs 6,090 Golden Eagles. Nicknamed Ugly Duckling, the fighter uses a recreated camouflage scheme and is described as the fastest P-47 variant. Its eight 12.7 mm machine guns can be paired with HVAR rockets and bombs weighing 250, 500, or 1,000 lb.

Raymond Wetmore’s P-51D-10 is priced at 4,880 Golden Eagles. His aircraft, nicknamed Daddy’s Girl, can attack both ground and air targets with six 12.7 mm machine guns, HVAR and M8 rockets, and bombs ranging from 100 to 1,000 lb.

Two bundles cut their prices in half

From 12:00 GMT on September 18 until 12:00 GMT on September 21, the Gaijin.Net Store also offers two bundles at 50% off. Steam players can reach the store from the in-game hangar by opening Shop > Online Store.

The Essential Classics Bundle includes the Sabre Skblazers Pack, Ray Wetmore’s P-51D-10 Pack, George Bostwick’s P-47M-1-RE Thunderbolt Pack, and P-38K Pack. Its price is reduced from 135 to 67.48.

The Modern Warfare Bundle includes the F/A-18С Early (USA) Pack, F-4S Phantom II Pack, and A-10A Thunderbolt (early) Pack. It costs 105 instead of 210 during the promotion.

  • Progress is available under Nickname > Achievements > Holidays > US Air Force Birthday.
