Alleged GTA 6 Gameplay Clips Surface Before the August 27 Extended Look

The unverified material reportedly includes Jason playing basketball with a "focus" meter, an icon that may point to a morality system, a six-star wanted level, and a broad view of Leonida's roads, alongside vehicle and interface systems.

Alleged Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay clips are circulating online on August 18, just days before Rockstar’s scheduled August 27 extended look at the game.

Two pieces of footage have reportedly appeared so far. One allegedly shows Jason playing basketball at his home, a rundown waterfront property; successful baskets appear to fill a meter labeled “focus”, although the footage does not show what it does. Another reportedly shows Jason driving a battered car near an interstate before crashing into a delivery truck. The driver gets out and starts a fight, and Jason eventually knocks him unconscious before continuing the attack with a wrench. A small devil icon appears at the side of the screen during the attack, which may point to a system tracking player actions, but the footage does not confirm a morality system or explain how the icon works. Nearby police reportedly respond to the criminal activity. Additional posts describe exploration and side activities, including an alleged six-star wanted level, an unfamiliar location, and an interaction with non-player characters. Other clips reportedly show loadout systems, car refueling, the phone interface, and stamina. The clips have not been officially presented by Rockstar, and their original uploaders have not been identified in the available reporting.

DMCA reports add weight to the leak claims

Fans are also reporting DMCA takedown notices attributed to Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive. One affected account, calhampton_ said its account had been locked after reposting the footage. In a follow-up post, the account referred to receiving a “very important and serious email.” Some YouTube uploads advertising full breakdowns of the footage have reportedly been blurred or altered, while Reddit posts containing the clips were reportedly removed by the site’s Legal Operations team. Those removals may add weight to the leak claims, although a takedown report alone does not verify every clip circulating under the game’s name.

An image claimed to show the complete GTA 6 map is circulating as well. It lacks fine detail but appears to trace much of the game’s road network and includes numerous points of interest that have not been identified. One alleged version reportedly shows five counties in Leonida, which would be one more than fans had previously known about. The image remains unverified, and its appearance alongside the gameplay clips does not establish that it came from Rockstar or reflects the final game.

Many posts point toward a cryptocurrency-related website that promises more footage. The leaked files reportedly carry a Cyberleek watermark, and the group promoting the material claims to be protesting questionable monetization practices in the game industry while asking players for cryptocurrency funding. Those requests are not connected to an official Rockstar campaign, and the site and its links should be avoided, since the material attached to that promotion has not been verified.

The timing puts the leak close to Rockstar’s planned presentation, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27 before reaching the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website at 9 p.m. ET the same day. The presentation is expected to provide the first extended look at gameplay following the game’s released trailers. Grand Theft Auto VI remains slated for November 19, 2026.

Readers should be cautious with reposted footage, since clips can be edited, mislabeled, or removed quickly after copyright complaints. Tell us what you think in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
