Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 Is a New Story, Not a Direct Sequel
The 10-episode Netflix season follows a new cast in Night City while keeping the first season's legacy in view.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix, but it doesn’t continue the first season’s story through the same crew. The new season takes place in the same Night City with an entirely new cast. CD Projekt Red describes it as a “standalone 10-episode story” in its official announcement.
The new story can be followed without watching Season 1 or playing Cyberpunk 2077. The earlier season still adds context, though: its themes and events echo through the new story, and characters from the original crew are remembered in Night City.
Spoilers for both seasons follow. David is still dead, but his legacy remains part of the story. Arasaka shows him as a possible test subject for the experimental Capri AI alongside Talia, and people speak of him as a Night City legend. Tanaka, whom Maine killed in Season 1, is also mentioned.
