VALORANT’s Aeris Collection Will Bring a Transforming Greatsword Melee on August 18

The 9,500 VP collection includes five weapons, a transforming melee weapon, a finisher, and three other cosmetic extras.

Riot Games revealed the Aeris Collection, which will arrive in VALORANT alongside Act 5 on August 18, 2026. The cosmetic bundle will also launch near a new battle pass filled with additional rewards.

Aeris will cost 9,500 VALORANT Points when it reaches the in-game store. Individual items will also be available separately, while the complete set will be offered together through the 9,500 VP bundle. Its theme centers on elite mages who have abandoned traditional spellcasting in favor of cardistry, with enchanted cards serving as both magical tools and expressions of personal style.

Aeris bundles card magic with five weapons

The collection includes four firearms, a melee weapon, and four extra cosmetics:

  • Suit of Aeris melee weapon
  • Vandal
  • Bandit
  • Marshal
  • Guardian
  • Finisher
  • 1 Flex
  • 1 Card
  • 1 Gun Buddy

The centerpiece is the Suit of Aeris, a transforming weapon that changes form according to the attack being used. Its first primary attack uses a dagger, the second and third use a sword, and the fourth changes into a greatsword. The alternate attack also uses the greatsword with its own animation. Each phase features its own animation, sound effects, and visual effects, while magical cards come together to form the weapon during attacks. Equipping the melee brings spinning cards together into the dagger, and inspecting it makes cards float around the weapon before merging back into its blade.

Riot also gave the firearms reload and equip animations built around magical cardistry. Eliminations bring a burst of playing cards into the action, while inspection animations follow the same mystical direction, with energy moving through a series of magical cards. The collection’s finisher expands that visual language further: floating cards surround the eliminated player before flying toward and striking the target. The area then darkens, followed by an explosion and a pillar of energy reaching into the sky, accompanied by ethereal ambient music.

The collection’s Flex lets an agent shuffle a deck and produce a card when activated. There is a 10% chance that it will produce one of six Riftbound cards, although the exact cards have not been identified. The item is purely cosmetic, so it will not affect the outcome of a round. The collection also contains Easter eggs for players to discover.

Aeris joins a steady run of VALORANT cosmetic releases, following the July 30 arrival of Neo Frontier 2.0. Players interested in the new set will need to decide whether its transforming melee weapon and card-based style justify the 9,500 VP price before it enters the store on August 18.
