PAYDAY 2 Update 247 Moves to Diesel Engine v3.0 With a 32GB Download
The update retires the native Linux branch in favor of Steam Proton while adding native VR, DirectX 11 rendering, and fixes across gameplay, weapons, and heists.

PAYDAY 2 Update 247 is bringing the upgraded engine release to players with a 32GB download and a move to Diesel Engine v3.0. The Steam announcement also outlines a temporary fallback for players who run into immediate problems with the new build.
The legacy version will remain available through beta branches for one month, giving affected players a playable alternative. The old native Linux branch is also being retired because it is no longer in development and causes confusion for new Linux users. Linux players must use Steam’s Proton features, while the Linux Migration Guide explains how to move save files to the current build.
PAYDAY 2 Update 247 Patch Notes
