Silent Hill 2 Patch 1.07 Improves PS5 Performance and Fog

Bloober Team and Konami released Patch 1.07 for Silent Hill 2 on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on August 7, 2026. The update focuses on performance in both Performance Mode and Quality Mode, along with several visual problems.
Fog is one of the remake’s key visual elements, and the patch improves its appearance. It also addresses shadow flickering, glitches on various assets, visual artifacts that could appear while James Sunderland was moving, and overall image quality. The update notice also mentions additional bug fixes.

Silent Hill 2 Patch 1.07 Notes
The biggest changes affect game performance and the way Silent Hill’s fog appears. The official fixes list includes the following:
- Improved game performance in both Performance and Quality Modes
- Improved the visuals of the fog
- Fixed visual glitches on various assets
- Fixed certain visual artifacts that may occur while moving
- Improved overall visual quality
The notice is dated August 7, 2026, and says an adjustment was carried out on August 6 for PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®5 Pro users. This is the first PlayStation patch for the remake in almost two years, with the last major update coming in November 2024.
Silent Hill 2 launched on October 14, 2024, with Bloober Team reworking the classic horror story for current hardware. Patch 1.07 stays focused on presentation and performance, giving players a cleaner view of the town’s fog and reducing the visual issues that could interrupt James Sunderland’s journey.
