Pokémon GO’s Delibird Spotlight Hour will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local time. Delibird will appear more often during the hour, and every catch will benefit from a 2× Stardust bonus.
This will be the first Pokémon Spotlight Hour of August 2026. Shiny Delibird will also be available, giving Trainers two good reasons to spend the hour catching as many of the gift-carrying Ice and Flying types as possible.

Delibird normally awards 500 Stardust when caught, so the event bonus makes each successful catch especially useful for Trainers saving up for trades, powering up Pokémon, or other Stardust costs.
Stardust earned from each Delibird catch
The amount earned depends on the weather and whether a Star Piece is active. These are the Stardust totals for individual catches during the Spotlight Hour:

Delibird receives a weather boost during Snow or Windy conditions because of its Ice and Flying typing. The best Stardust return comes from combining that weather boost with an active Star Piece.
What 60 catches can earn
Using 60 catches as a practical one-hour target, the event can produce the following totals:

- 60,000 Stardust is the baseline target for 60 catches without a Star Piece or weather boost.
- 75,000 Stardust is possible with Snow or Windy weather and no Star Piece.
- 90,000 Stardust is possible with a Star Piece and no weather boost.
- 112,500 Stardust is possible when all 60 catches receive both the Star Piece and weather bonuses.
A Star Piece increases Stardust gains by 50%, adding 30,000 Stardust to the 60-catch baseline. Trainers chasing the highest total should activate one before the hour begins and keep catching for the full 60 minutes.
How to catch more Delibird in one hour
Delibird can take more effort to catch than some Spotlight Hour Pokémon. Great Balls or Ultra Balls are useful choices when a catch attempt starts eating into the clock. A quick-catch technique can also leave more time for the next encounter instead of watching the full capture animation after every throw.
Before the event starts, prepare enough Poké Balls and check that there is room in Pokémon storage. A Star Piece should be ready in the item bag, and a Mega-Evolved Pokémon can help with the Candy side of the event.
Mega Pokémon that help with Delibird catches
These Mega Evolutions can provide extra catch bonuses for Delibird:

While a matching Mega Pokémon is active, catches that share a type with it can provide extra XP and Candy. These bonuses do not stack with one another. High- and Max-Level Mega Pokémon can also improve the chance of receiving Candy XL from a same-type catch.
Delibird’s typing, moves, and shiny appearance
Delibird is an Ice- and Flying-type Pokémon. It is especially weak against Rock-type moves, while Electric-, Fire-, and Steel-type moves are also strong choices against it. Delibird’s maximum Combat Power is 1,237 CP, and its best moves are Present and Fly.
Shiny Delibird has a purple body instead of the regular red coloring, so the difference should be easy to notice when one appears.
