Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo Is Now Available on Steam

The free opening includes character creation and Chapter 1-3: To the Forest, but it does not support online features or Photo Mode.

Monster Hunter Wilds players can now try the game’s opening for free on Steam. Capcom announced the Prologue Demo’s availability for August 5 in a Steam announcement.

The demo requires more than 26 GB of storage space. It lets players create a character and play through Chapter 1-3: To the Forest, offering an introduction to the story and hunting systems set in the Forbidden Lands.

Online features and Photo Mode are not available in the Prologue Demo. Capcom also warns that the demo’s content may change or be discontinued without notice. Players can find more details on the official Monster Hunter Wilds website.

The announcement also confirms that Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the game’s upcoming expansion, is planned for 2027. Its Steam store page is already available for wishlisting.
