Capcom announced on August 4, 2026, that Resident Evil Veronica had reached 2 million wishlists on Steam. The milestone arrived less than two months after the remake was revealed at Summer Game Fest.
The official Resident Evil account marked the occasion with a playful message thanking fans for the support: “2 million biscuits for the 2 million of you who’ve wishlisted Resident Evil Veronica. Thank you!”

Steam does not publicly show complete wishlist totals for every game, but the SteamDB most-wishlisted games tracker placed Resident Evil Veronica in eighth position at the time of the announcement. Deadlock, Light No Fire, Fable, and Total War: Warhammer 40,000 were among the games ahead of it.
That figure only covers Steam. The remake is also planned for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2, with a 2027 release window, so the total audience interest across platforms is not reflected in Capcom’s Steam figure.
Why Resident Evil Veronica has drawn so much interest
The original Resident Evil Veronica remains one of the better-reviewed games in the series. It ranks as the second-highest-rated Resident Evil title on Metacritic, behind the original Resident Evil 4, even though its standing among fans has cooled somewhat over the years.
The remake’s reported development team has also added to the interest. AestheticGamer1 reported that the project is being handled by the team behind the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes. Capcom has not confirmed that detail in the announcement.
Capcom has shared little about the remake beyond its reveal, platforms, and 2027 target. Reaching 2 million Steam wishlists before a deeper look at the game gives the project a strong early audience, even with much of its actual gameplay still under wraps.
