In a July 9 Xbox Wire post, Xbox said Wreck Runners is getting its first Xbox Insider playtest before the game launches on July 16. The test is available from Thursday, July 9 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC) through Monday, July 13 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC), and it is limited to Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Wreck Runners is a four-player co-op extraction game built around one simple rule: go deeper for better salvage, but do not get greedy. Teams board the ORCA, raid abandoned islands, underwater wrecks, and mysterious facilities in the Bermuda Triangle, then try to get their haul back to the Barge before the Triangle claims the whole run.
Joining the test takes a few steps. Xbox Insiders need to open the Xbox Insider Hub on their Xbox Series X|S console, go to Previews > Wreck Runners, select Join, and finish the registration before installing Wreck Runners Playtest! from the Store.
If a bug shows up, Xbox wants players to use Report a problem, pick the Games category, and then choose the Wreck Runners Playtest subcategory so the team can look into it.
