Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024’s July 2 weekly briefing packed several live items into one post. Sim Update 5.1 (1.7.35.0) was available across all platforms, and the team said players could review the notes and send feedback through the SU5.1 surveys.
The biggest release was World Update 22: United States National Parks, which arrived on July 2 and is free in the in-sim Marketplace. The update marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and gives several U.S. park areas a fresh pass.

Microsoft also added the Goodyear Blimp as a free aircraft in the base sim. In the Marketplace, the Summer Sale ran through July 9 at 10 a.m. PDT, or 1700 UTC, with discounts of up to 80% on more than 1,250 items. The team also said new sales were stopping for one Marketplace partner’s products, while existing owners could still use what they already bought.
On the community side, Community Fly-In Friday will head to Utah on July 3 at 1800Z and visit Canyonlands, Arches, and Bryce Canyon. The briefing also pointed to a weekly flight inspiration note tied to Wimbledon in London and a community video that followed SD Falchetti in a Carenado C182Q from Bodmin to Welshpool.
This week’s screenshot challenge centered on World Update 22, and the winner named in the briefing was hondaatc90. Share your thoughts in the comments, and join us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
