PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS has laid out a tougher anti-cheat push that raises the stakes for console players who use abnormal input devices, tightens support for account-theft victims, and keeps unauthorized third-party tools under active scrutiny.
The official anti-cheat team said the update centers on two goals: protecting fair players and taking stronger action against cheating. That includes a new console policy that moves from temporary bans to permanent bans for accounts confirmed to be using abnormal input devices.
Console bans are getting much stricter
The team said it has focused on devices that convert signals for mouse and keyboard input, including Cronus, XIM, and Mix Master, as well as tools that create an unfair edge through recoil control. Under the new policy, accounts confirmed to be using those devices on consoles will no longer get time-limited penalties. They will be banned permanently.
PUBG also said the new standard will apply across platforms, with enforcement based on the same criteria no matter where the cheating takes place. The strengthened console ban policy will go live as soon as possible, and the studio said it will share a separate notice once the change takes effect.
Account theft victims are getting a clearer path back
On the recovery side, the team is changing its unban policy for players who were punished after account theft. The number of available unbans will now depend on whether a secondary password is in place.
Accounts with a secondary password will receive one unban per half-year, up to two per year. Accounts without a secondary password will still get one unban for life. PUBG also said it is preparing extra relief for players whose accounts were stolen before the secondary password feature existed and who have already used their one unban.
Those players will be able to submit a request to Player Support for another review. If the review confirms the account was actually stolen, the ban will be lifted. If not, the case will not be reviewed again.
Third-party programs remain a ban risk
The anti-cheat team also said it has recently identified several unauthorized third-party programs that assist gameplay. It warned that displaying information the game does not provide, changing the UI without permission, or accessing the game client or its processes in abnormal ways to collect data can all lead to penalties.
That policy applies regardless of the tool’s name or form. PUBG said unauthorized programs may bring account suspension without warning, and it asked players not to use anything the game does not officially provide or permit.
Looking ahead, the team said it will roll out another wave of system improvements after July to strengthen protection for legitimate players. It also said it will keep listening to community feedback and Player Support reports as it works on ban accuracy and verification.
