Blizzard released the first major Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred patch, and one of its clean-up jobs was supposed to make Glynn’s Anvil actually work. The Legendary power now grants 4% damage reduction for each resolve stack, up to eight stacks, but a separate bug has turned that tidy buff into a wild defensive exploit.
Resolve is one of Diablo 4’s core survival tools. Some gear can raise the resolve cap by three, but upgrading that item appears to push the cap to 12 instead of the intended value. Repeat that across three pieces of gear and players can hit 44 resolve stacks. With Glynn’s Anvil active, that adds up to 176% damage reduction.
MacroBioBoi showed the numbers in a recent video. Without the stack setup, a 30,000-damage hit landed as expected. With it, the same hit was reduced to 4,000, and the setup also makes a 100% block chance possible through another resolve interaction.
It is a messy follow-up to Blizzard’s earlier quick fix for a stuck Lord of Hatred quest. For now, Blizzard has not said when this defense bug will be patched.
