Embark Studios’ Shared Watch event runs from February 10 to February 24 and asks players to focus on fighting Arc machines rather than player-versus-player combat. Players earn event currency called Merits by dealing damage to, assisting on, or killing Arc enemies during normal matches. The event is not a separate PvE mode or a separate matchmaking pool. Merits are tied specifically to XP gained from Arc encounters, not to generic match XP.
Merits convert directly from Arc XP at a rate of 100 XP equals 1 Merit. Small Arc enemies such as Wasps, Hornets, and Snitches typically reward about 100 to 200 XP. Larger enemies like Rocketeers, Leapers, and Bastions give around 500 XP. Damage and assists also contribute XP, so players do not always need the final blow to earn credit.
Because Merits are tied to Arc XP, cooperative play and targeting bigger Arc spawns speed progression. Map events such as Night Raids and areas with dense Arc spawns are efficient for racking up XP, and elevated positions like rooftops on Spaceport can be good for sniping high-value targets. Bird City is another useful map because of the high number of Snitches and the ensuing Arc spawns they trigger.
Merits move players along a 21-step rewards track. The full track requires 1,050 Merits, which equals 105,000 XP. Rewards include Raider Tokens, blueprints, cosmetics in the Slugger theme, and the final Batting Helmet Scrappy outfit at the 1,050 Merit mark.
