Streamers say ARC Raiders has worse cheating than Call of Duty

High-profile streamers have pushed ARC Raiders’ cheating problem into public view this week, accusing the game of hosting frequent low-level Steam accounts and players who appear to use cheats during raids.

  • Nadeshot published a long post on X describing repeated runs ruined by accounts with bans or brand-new profiles.
  • Shroud shared a clip claiming “50% of each lobby is cheating.
  • Embark Studios added a pre-launch feature to let players reclaim resources lost to confirmed cheaters, but some streamers call that insufficient.

What streamers said

Nadeshot posted on X that the level of cheating he’s seen “genuinely might be worse than peak Call of Duty,” and described running multiple raids only to have progress wiped out by suspected cheaters. He added that new Steam profiles and accounts with bans are appearing regularly in lobbies.

Days later a clip of Shroud circulated in which he said, “50% of each lobby is cheating,” and questioned the point of continuing to play under those conditions.

Embark Studios included a system that lets players recover lost resources if they were killed by “confirmed cheaters.” That tool is intended to reduce the direct economic hit to victims, but streamers say it feels like a repair rather than a fix when cheating is frequent.

Several high-profile streamers have publicly reported repeated encounters with suspicious accounts, and Embark has a resource-claim feature in place. How widespread the problem is across the entire player base is definitely unknown. Some players report never seeing cheaters, while others say they encounter them regularly.

Why players should care

ARC Raiders’ raid structure depends on time and loot. If confirmed cheaters regularly disrupt runs, that erodes the core loop of looting and progression and raises the stakes for anyone investing hours into a raid. The community discussion also highlights real-money trading as a likely motivator, since blueprints and rare weapons can be sold for cash on secondary markets.
