Sony announces 4:Loop, a four-player co-op from the creator of Left 4 Dead

Sony and Bad Robot Games announced 4:Loop on December 11, 2025, a sci-fi co-op shooter built around four-player tactical play. The studio describes 4:Loop as a title aimed at “endless replayability” with a focus on teamwork and improvisation. Early information from the reveal highlights squad roles and on-the-fly cooperation as central pillars rather than a strict class system.

Mike Booth, credited as the creator of Left 4 Dead, is leading the project. His involvement is one of the clearest indicators of the game’s co-op pedigree and the emphasis on coordinated team play. Sony and Bad Robot said the game will release on PS5 and PC. There is no firm release date yet, but sign-ups for early playtests are open on the official 4:Loop website.

Gameplay details remain thin for now, and the studio has released a trailer alongside the announcement. Watch the trailer or use the official playtest signup to get hands-on when tests go live.
