PlayStation Network experienced widespread problems on July 24, leaving players unable to access several online features for more than six hours. The situation is improving, but Sony has warned that some users may still have trouble getting products from the PlayStation Store.
Sony’s official service status page now reflects the ongoing recovery. Most PSN functions appear to be working again, including access to games and other account features, although Store purchases and product access remain affected.
The outage previously disrupted game downloads, the PlayStation App, friends lists, recently played games, Trophies, game-server connections, and digital-license checks. Reports also showed that some players could use certain features while others remained locked out, suggesting that recovery was happening unevenly across regions and services.
Amazon Web Services acknowledged an earlier service problem and said that restoring network routes should reduce connection errors and timeouts. Its service health page later indicated that the AWS issues had been resolved, though PSN continued to recover afterward.
Down Detector recorded a large increase in PlayStation Network outage reports in the United States, with reports also increasing in the United Kingdom. The latest update from Sony thanked users for their patience while work on the remaining Store problems continued.
Players who are still seeing errors may need to wait for the remaining PSN services to stabilize. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, and Instagram.
