PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 Will Begin Oct. 24 With 16 Teams and $1.25M in Payouts

The Oct. 24-28 Swiss stage sends eight teams into playoffs from Oct. 29-31, with a best-of-five final closing the $1.25 million event.

PGL Masters Bucharest begins Oct. 24 with 16 Counter-Strike 2 teams competing for $1.25 million. The five-day Swiss stage runs Oct. 24-28, followed by an eight-team playoff from Oct. 29-31. Bucharest is the final Tier 1 event before the Nov. 2 VRS cutoff for Singapore Major invites.

Twelve of the 13 highest-ranked teams in the July 6 VRS standings accepted invitations. Falcons declined, leaving the team without another chance to earn VRS points before the cutoff. Four regional qualifier winners complete the field: Nemiga from Europe, Liquid from North America, DENDELE from South America, and TYLOO from Asia.

FUT’s Álvaro “SunPayus” García will debut for the team after joining as cmtry’s AWP replacement. Vitality will use jL in place of apEX, one of the two assignments covered in his upcoming Vitality appearances.

Opening matches on Oct. 24

The opening day features eight best-of-three series: Aurora vs. The MongolZ, FUT vs. TYLOO, Spirit vs. BetBoom, MOUZ vs. Liquid, Vitality vs. 9z, Legacy vs. Nemiga, G2 vs. NAVI, and FURIA vs. DENDELE. PGL lists the Stream A matches at 10:00 for Aurora vs. The MongolZ, 13:00 for Spirit vs. BetBoom, 16:00 for Vitality vs. 9z, and 19:00 for G2 vs. NAVI.

Every Swiss match is best-of-three. Teams need three series wins to advance, while three losses mean elimination, and Swiss results determine playoff seeding. The playoff bracket is single-elimination, with best-of-three matches except for the best-of-five grand final. A third-place match takes place before the final, and there is no day off between the Swiss stage and playoffs.

Player and club payouts

The $1.25 million total is split evenly between player prize money and Club Share, with $625,000 allocated to each. The winner receives $450,000 in total, split equally between the player and club shares. Each share follows the same placement breakdown:

  • 1st: $225,000
  • 2nd: $100,000
  • 3rd: $68,750
  • 4th: $43,750
  • 5th-8th: $25,000 per placement
  • 9th-11th: $15,625 per placement
