Counter-Strike 2 update disables TrueView during live playcasts and fixes observer effects

Valve pushed a minor Counter-Strike 2 update that adjusts spectator behavior and cleans up a few visual quirks. The most visible change is a spectator tweak: TrueView is disabled while watching a live playcast, so the live observing experience matches what players see on the server. That should make live matches feel less like a polished demo and more like the match in progress.

Valve also fixed a case where observers could see incorrect post-processing after switching observer targets. The update eliminates a subtle visual “pop” and also removes a slight wiggle at the end of the SG 556 deploy animation. The patch note closes out with general stability improvements.

This follows earlier work on TrueView demo playback and related demo fixes that adjusted how demos and spectator tools behave during playback and viewing, which we covered in a previous update about TrueView demo playback and demo fixes.

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!
