Ubisoft has announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Valley of Memory, a free expansion that will arrive on November 18, adding approximately six hours of new content and building on Basim’s backstory. The expansion is a joint project between Ubisoft and the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, with the latter effectively funding the entire add-on. That backing has attracted criticism from observers who point to Saudi Arabia’s long history of human rights concerns and question soft power motives behind cultural projects.
Valley of Memory is described as a compact, narrative-led expansion that explores more of Basim’s past, launching over two years after Mirage’s original release. Alongside the free expansion, Mirage will receive a sizable gameplay update that overhauls movement, adds mission replay options, introduces new difficulty presets, and brings a variety of quality-of-life fixes.
What will include?
- Smoother Parkour and Mobility Improvements – Renewed movement with free jumps, height-gaining ejects, and an enhanced control scheme.
- Mission Replay with Animus Sequences – Revisit contracts and key story missions with optional challenges to unlock exclusive rewards, including new color filters inspired by past Assassin’s Creed games.
- Customizable Experience – Hardened and Ultimate Assassin presets are available for extra challenge, and players can customize difficulty using a full range of presets.
- Expanded Feature and Fixes – A new level 3 upgrade for each tool, an additional skill, and multiple quality-of-life improvements are included.
Players who left Basim’s story behind will now have an easy way to jump back in for a compact narrative and a set of gameplay tweaks that change how Mirage plays on a fundamental level. Please share your thoughts in the comments and follow us on X and Bluesky.
