July 2025 Pokémon GO Events: Raids, Spotlight Hours, and More Revealed

If you’re still hunting Pokémon in the blazing summer heat, July 2025 in Pokémon GO has some neat stuff lined up. From Solgaleo and Lunala making raid appearances to a festive Pikachu rocking a party hat for the game’s 9th anniversary, there’s plenty to keep your Poké Balls busy.

Major July Events

  • 9th Anniversary Party (July 1–6): Celebrate with a Pikachu sporting a party hat during Spotlight Hour and enjoy special bonuses.
  • Eevee Community Day Classic (July 5–6): Classic Eevee fans get their moment to shine.
  • Water Festival (July 15–20): Splash around with water-type Pokémon bonuses and spawns.
  • Summer Concert (July 19–22): A musical-themed event bringing distinct spawns and rewards.
  • Quaxly Community Day (July 20): Focus on the Water-type starter from the latest generation.
  • Adventure Week (July 29–August 3): Encourages exploration with special research and Pokémon.

Raids in July 2025

July’s raids are stacked with Legendary and Mega Pokémon. Cobalion, Solgaleo, Terrakion, Lunala, and Virizion will rotate through Tier 5 Raids during specific date windows. Mega Raids will feature Mega Aggron, Mega Charizard X, Mega Blastoise, Mega Venusaur, and Mega Aerodactyl. Yikes, that’s quite the lineup!

Tier 5 Raid Schedule

  • June 30 – July 8: Cobalion
  • July 8 – July 14: Solgaleo
  • July 14 – July 22: Terrakion
  • July 22 – July 28: Lunala
  • July 28 – August 4: Virizion

Mega Raids Schedule

  • June 30 – July 8: Mega Aggron
  • July 8 – July 14: Mega Charizard X
  • July 14 – July 22: Mega Blastoise
  • July 22 – July 28: Mega Venusaur
  • July 28 – August 4: Mega Aerodactyl

Shadow Raids

Shadow Registeel will return to Shadow Raids on weekends throughout July. Shadow Pokémon are always a bit more challenging, so get your friends ready for a proper team effort.

July 2025 Raid Hours

Each Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time, a featured Legendary will appear more frequently in Five Star Raids:

  • July 2: Cobalion
  • July 9: Solgaleo
  • July 16: Terrakion and Virizion
  • July 23: Lunala

Max Battles & Max Mondays

Max Battles will feature a different Pokémon each week, running alongside the Max Mondays spotlight hours when those Pokémon appear more frequently from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. Here’s the rundown:

Spotlight Hours

Complete your Field Research tasks to encounter some cool Pokémon as Research Breakthrough rewards from June 3 to September 2, 2025:
