Remedy Entertainment is hinting at something big for the Summer Game Fest, and if you’re a fan of this survival horror game, you’ll want to pay close attention.
Remedy had already told us that Alan Wake 2 would get two paid expansions in 2024. We’ve been waiting, and now, the wait might finally be over. The first clue? Remedy Entertainment has gone full-on cryptic mode on social media. They’ve changed their username on Twitter to Poison Pill Entertainment, which is the exact opposite of Remedy. Their profile and header pics are all updated to match this new vibe, and they’ve even tagged the Alan Wake series’ Twitter page, making it pretty clear this is all about our favorite horror author.
And here’s where it gets even more enjoyable. Geoff Keighley, the mastermind behind Summer Game Fest, dropped a tweet tagging Remedy with the googly eyes emoji. You know, the classic “something cool is coming” hint. The showcase is on June 7, so mark your calendars.

Remedy shared some deets last year, and they sound epic. The first expansion, Night Springs, will be a series of “self-contained episodes” of a fictional TV show within the Alan Wake universe. Think Twilight Zone, but creepier and more twisted. The second expansion, The Lake House, will take us to a spooky facility on the shores of Cauldron Lake, where, surprise surprise, things have gone wrong. Both are set to drop in 2024, so getting an announcement now makes perfect sense.
Remedy also promised an accessible photo mode for Alan Wake 2 this spring. There’s no word yet on when that’s landing, but with all this buzz, hopefully, they’ll throw in some info about that, too.
Alan Wake 2 is already on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It’s been a massive hit, selling over 1.3 million units and becoming Remedy’s fastest-selling game ever. But, fun fact, it still hasn’t covered its development and marketing costs completely. Crazy, right?
So, keep your eyes peeled on June 7 for the Summer Game Fest. Whether we get one or both expansions announced, it will be worth talking about. Get ready to dive back into the eerie world of Alan Wake, Remedy’s got some serious surprises up their sleeve.
