League Classic will remain available through the rest of 2026 Season 3, but its current run will end in January 2027. Riot says in its League Classic development update that it hopes to bring the mode back in the future, likely as an event mode with changes and additions.
There is still more content planned before the current run ends. Aatrox, Caitlyn, Irelia, Karma, and Quinn arrived with Patch 26.20, as covered in Patch 26.20’s five Classic champions. Mordekaiser, Yorick, Hecarim, and Lucian will join in Patch 26.21. Riot plans to add champions with each patch through 26.23, including Volibear, Urgot, and Udyr, who placed in the top three of the latest Council poll.
Classic queues will have regional limits
Some regions will move to scheduled queue windows as more players return to League’s modern modes. Riot says the migration has contributed to long Classic queues and wide MMR gaps in those regions.
Korea, Latin America North, Latin America South, Taiwan, Vietnam, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and Russia will have queues from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. server time Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. server time on weekends. JP1 and ME1 will have custom matches only starting with Patch 26.21. Custom games will remain available at all times in every region.
The next Classic Battle Pass will be free
Patch 26.21 will bring the Act II Classic Battle Pass with a single free track. Riot is also issuing refunds for Classic-specific content that will no longer be usable, with refund details on its support page. From Patch 26.21 onward, the Classic store will contain only Champions, Runes, and Rune Pages.
