Xbox is opening the first wave of pre-orders for its 25th anniversary collection on Aug. 26, with some fans receiving invitations by email. Broader access will begin in select markets on Aug. 27 at 7 a.m. PDT, giving more players a chance to order the special hardware while supplies last, according to Xbox’s 25th anniversary collection announcement.
The collection features the XBOX Series X25 Limited Edition console and a matching Special Edition controller. Its translucent OG Green finish is paired with anniversary details inspired by Xbox history, while each console carries its own individual number engraving.
There is also a digital bonus tucked into every console package: a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved. The remake revisits the campaign that helped establish the original Xbox, giving the anniversary collection a software addition alongside its special hardware.
When the Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection goes on sale
Players in select markets will be able to look for the collection through the Xbox Series X page or participating retailers beginning Aug. 27 at 7 a.m. PDT. The invitation wave is already underway, but availability will depend on local stock.
The collection will launch on Nov. 13, 2026, with an MSRP of $899.99 USD. Regional prices and availability will differ, and Microsoft is limiting purchases to one collection per customer.
The XBOX X25 controller is also sold separately
The XBOX X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller is available separately, with pre-orders open now in select markets through the official controller page.
The controller will launch on Oct. 20. It uses the same translucent OG Green styling and adds visual touches tied to Xbox’s 25-year history, making it the easier pickup for players who want the anniversary design without buying the full console collection.
