Warframe Update 43.5 Sets Amir’s Shockwave Nightwave Mix for August 12

The update adds a permanent six-day Fables & Frontiers KIM campaign, a new Surge Eximus enemy, fresh rewards, and a long list of Nightwave changes.

Digital Extremes has detailed Warframe Update 43.5: Amir’s Shockwave in the official Update 43.5 forum notes. Amir’s Shockwave is scheduled to begin on August 12 at 11:30 a.m. ET, bringing a new Nightwave Mix alongside a permanent KIM adventure, fresh cosmetics, TennoGen items, and a broad set of balance, quality-of-life, performance, and bug fixes.

The update is also available as a PC download of approximately 248.94 MB for DirectX 11 and 250.68 MB for DirectX 12.

Fables & Frontiers is a permanent KIM campaign

Amir takes the role of Fablemaster in Fables & Frontiers: Running Late, a six-day text adventure featuring the Hex. The campaign takes place through a new KIM group chat and offers one session per day. After each session, players must wait for the Daily Reset at 0:00 UTC before continuing.

Unlike Amir’s Shockwave, the Fables & Frontiers campaign is a permanent addition to the KIM system. It is not tied to the Nightwave Mix rotation, so players can begin it whenever they meet the requirements. The conversations do not award Chemistry, since the campaign is designed as a role-playing experience rather than another relationship progression route.

Players must meet three requirements before the new group chat becomes available:

  • Complete The Hex Quest and The Hex Finale.
  • Reach Rank 5, Pizza Party, with The Hex Syndicate.
  • Reach Chemistry Rank 5, Close, with Amir in the KIM system.

Once those conditions are met, travel to Höllvania Central Mall from the POM-2 map and go to the second floor. The room is called Höllvandeim, and it can also be reached through fast travel from the pause menu or quick access wheel. Ring the bell near Amir’s table, speak with him, and use the dialogue options to create a character sheet. After choosing a class and weaponry or abilities, return to the POM-2 to start the campaign in KIM.

Höllvandeim also serves as Amir’s shop. His wares are purchased with Standing from The Hex and include character Glyphs and posters, decorations, Somachord tracks, a Captura Scene, and rewards connected to the Fables & Frontiers adventure. The shop includes the new “Running Late” track by On-lyne and the Fables & Frontiers-themed “A Byte-sized Adventure” track.

The Hex characters take on fantasy roles during the campaign: Arthur plays Cedric Dawnsong, Aoi plays Morohime Ichigeki, Eleanor plays Sanguina Kallisti, Lettie plays Ixchel Balam, and Quincy plays Lord Reyland Kingsacre. Players can also encounter the Surge Eximus, a fast enemy that attacks with three strikes of Electric Damage.

Completing the campaign awards the Fables & Frontiers: Running Late Poster through the Inbox and unlocks the ability to replay the KIM campaign. Players can reset their memories through the Digital Grimoire or by speaking with Amir, then choose the same character or take a different character’s perspective. Resetting memories temporarily removes access to Amir’s shop until a new character sheet is created.

Amir’s Shockwave changes Nightwave rewards and Acts

The new Nightwave Mix adds Amir-themed rewards while returning several items from earlier rotations. Duplicate protection remains in place: players who already own a reward receive Amir’s Shockwave Creds instead.

The new tier rewards include the Kaneshell Atomicycle Regalia for the Drifter and Operator, the Teisatz Oculus, Globakk Syandana, Come Here Emote, Entropic Color Palette, Submeower Decoration, Drippy Floof, Drippy Keychain Sugatra, Drippy Dog Days Glyph, and 90’s Kid Honoria. Two new augment mods are also included:

  • Prototype Shock Coils (EFV-8 MARS): Adds +90% Electric Damage, and shots have a 20% base chance to apply extra Electric status independent of modded damage types.
  • Overpressured Rounds (EFV-5 JUPITER): Rifle kills add 120% Falloff Distance and decrease Spread for the next Buckshot attack. Buckshot kills restore 50% of the current Magazine.

The Cred Offerings Store now permanently carries the Nightwave Landing Craft Blueprint and its Engines, Avionics, and Fuselage components. Several Aura Mods, Warframe Mods, weapon blueprints, weapon skin blueprints, and Wolf Beacon rewards are also available as permanent offerings rather than appearing only through rotation.

New rotating offerings include the DJ Shockwave Sigil and Glyph, Frakta Shoulder Guard, Drifter Keeler outfit pieces, Daybreak cosmetics, and the Vile Discharge, Sentient Surge, Leaded Gas, and Biotic Rounds augments. Six Weapon Augment Mods are now guaranteed in each rotation, while new store filters separate Recovered Artifacts from Weapons & Weapon Cosmetics.

Nightwave also receives new Acts and several requirement changes. The new Daily Acts are Whole Arsenal, which requires a kill with a Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapon within 10 seconds, and Artist, which asks players to customize an equipment piece’s colors. Weekly additions include To Ashes, Bow Offense, Rifle Offense, Sniper Offense, Shotgun Offense, and Void Net.

Elite Weekly additions include Elementary, My Dear; Going Down; Hold the Mushrooms; Battle Hardened; Spider Hunt; and Treasure from the Past. Existing Acts have also been adjusted: Now Boarding needs one K-Drive race instead of three, Finely Tuned needs one Shawzin song instead of two, Elite Explorer needs six Railjack missions instead of eight, and Fallen Angel needs three Void Angels instead of five.

The Hunt is On now requires 10 Syndicate Medallions and has moved from Daily to Weekly. Perplexed now requires one Duviri puzzle instead of three and has moved from Elite Weekly to Weekly. Day Trader no longer requires players to prevent the enemy from scoring, while Cache Hunter now counts eligible caches found outside Sabotage missions.

Baruuk, TennoGen, and customization additions

Update 43.5 adds the Baruuk Shaoshi Collection, which contains the Baruuk Shaoshi Skin, Rathan Sword & Shield Skin, Liania Signa, and Neviti Ephemera. Each piece can also be purchased separately.

The Fables & Frontiers TennoGen selection includes the Kullervo Ascophilia Skin, Oraxia Agamva Helmet, Haemadys Mask for the Operator and Drifter, Harrow Profitas Skin, Centurio Signa, and Acheta Signa. Players can also purchase the Memetica Glyph Pack III, containing six Glyphs: Absolute Cinema, Arthur In The Fridge, Chassis, Dump It, Kalymos Cone, and Lotus Change of Plans.

Other additions include a Drippy UI Theme and Background, an X Axis option for Signa placement, Drifter versions of the Wolf Hood and Umbra Hooded Scarf, Fishing Stats in player profiles, new Honoria rewards, and a Personal Decorations option in the Dojo Room Console.
