Wardogs Begins Region Controls, Plans 175 Ping Cap
Bulkhead tied the tighter limits to cheating concerns and said backend region locking would take more than a simple switch.

Bulkhead said it had begun tightening regional access in Wardogs and planned to lower the maximum server ping to 175 over the following hours. The studio tied the change to players arriving from regions it considers more prone to cheating, saying it wanted to protect the largest share of its player base.
The tighter boundaries come with a tradeoff. Bulkhead said social play is central to Wardogs, but it had decided to prioritize the larger group of players over the minority affected by the restrictions. The studio also apologized for letting the situation reach this point.
Today we have begun the process of controlling regions. 📢
Over the next few hours we will be reducing the maximum ping on a server to be 175 after we have decided that protecting the largest amount of players from an influx of regions that are more prone to cheating.

A ping cap is only part of the plan. Backend region locking was already in progress, but Bulkhead said making it work as intended required more than flipping a switch. The studio also plans stricter limits on cross-region play after its more permissive approach failed to deliver the results it wanted.
