War Thunder’s Hawk 209 Sale Cuts the Jet to 6,734 Golden Eagles

The limited-time offer runs through August 24 and gives players 30% off the Indonesian strike aircraft.

War Thunder has brought back the Indonesian Hawk 209 at a 30% discount, reducing its price to 6,734 Golden Eagles. The offer began on August 21 at 11:00 GMT and will remain available until August 24 at 11:00 GMT, as announced in Gaijin Entertainment’s Steam news post.

Players can find the aircraft under Japan > Aviation > Premium vehicles. Once the promotion ends, the Hawk 209 will return to its regular price of 9,620 Golden Eagles.

What the Hawk 209 brings to battle

The sale marks the anniversary of the Hawk strike aircraft’s first flight on August 21, 1974. Hawker Siddeley’s aircraft was exported around the world, with more than 1,000 units produced, and versions of the Hawk remain in service with air forces including Indonesia’s.

In War Thunder, the Hawk 209 comes equipped with a radar warning receiver and countermeasures. Its available weapons include a 30 mm ADEN Mk.4 cannon, bombs ranging from 250 lb to 1,000 lb, AIM-9P-4 air-to-air missiles, AGM-65G air-to-ground missiles, Mighty Mouse rockets, and MBDA Sea Eagle anti-ship missiles.

The mix of air-to-air, air-to-ground, and anti-ship weapons gives the jet several ways to contribute during a match. The discounted price is available only during the current promotional window, so the aircraft will cost 2,886 more Golden Eagles after August 24.
