War Thunder’s Airborne Day Event Offers a UH-1C Discount and Four Decal Rewards
The UH-1C XM-30 costs 6,237 Golden Eagles, while a 3,000-point task awards one of four US-themed decals.
War Thunder is running a US Airborne Day promotion with a discounted helicopter and a trophy containing one of four military decals. Gaijin Entertainment outlined the event in a Steam news post.
National Airborne Day takes place in the United States on August 16. The observance commemorates the first parachute jump in the country in 1940 and recognizes the role of American airborne forces in conflicts including World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
UH-1C XM-30 discount details
The UH-1C XM-30 is available at 30% off for 6,237 Golden Eagles. The offer runs from August 14 at 14:00 GMT through August 17 at 14:00 GMT, and the helicopter can be found under USA > Helicopters > Premium vehicles.
The helicopter can only be purchased during the promotion. The UH-1C has night-vision capabilities and is built around a maneuverable, flexible design. The XM-30 variant takes its name from its XM140 30 mm cannons, though pilots can also equip M134 7.62 mm machine guns, BGM-71C Improved TOW ATGMs, or FFAR Mighty Mouse rockets.
How to earn the US Airborne Day trophy
The US Airborne Day trophy is available from August 14 at 13:00 GMT until August 17 at 13:00 GMT. To earn it, players must collect 3,000 mission points in battles while using a US aircraft at Rank III or higher.
Each trophy contains one of four decals:
- “Parachutist Badge (USA)”
- “Emblem of the XVIII Airborne Corps”
- “Paratrooper”
- “Emblem of Easy Company, 506th Parachute Regiment”
The Paratrooper decal appears in the Holidays customization section. The other decals can be found under USA > Aviation.
If all three decals referenced in the reward instructions are already unlocked, the trophy instead provides one of these rewards:
- A 20-50% Research Point booster for 3-10 battles
- A 20-50% Silver Lion booster for 3-10 battles
- 3-5 universal backups
- 1 day of Premium account
The task can be completed in random battles, except for Assault mode. Progress is available in the hangar through Nickname > Achievements > Holidays > US Airborne Day. Once the task is finished, the reward must be collected manually.
