War Thunder Will Add China’s FK-2000 With 12 Missiles and Twin 30 mm Guns
The Rank VIII wheeled SAM will join China's ground tree between the CS/SA5 and HQ11, pairing a phased-array radar with mobile anti-aircraft firepower.

War Thunder will add the FK-2000 to China’s ground forces tree as a Rank VIII anti-aircraft system. Gaijin Entertainment outlined the vehicle in its Steam announcement, highlighting a mobile platform that combines 12 surface-to-air missiles with 2 six-barreled 30 mm cannons.
That combination gives the FK-2000 tools for more than one kind of air-defense engagement. Its phased-array radar will support the missile system, while the rapid-fire guns can respond to aircraft at closer distances and punish ground targets that get too close.
The FK-2000 is built for short- and medium-range air defense
The vehicle is designed to protect teammates from aircraft at short to medium ranges. Despite its large chassis, it is more compact than many multi-vehicle SAM platforms, allowing players to place it behind buildings or in low terrain before covering the surrounding skies.
Once a ground threat appears, the FK-2000 will be able to relocate quickly or fight back with its cannons. The wheeled chassis supports that mobile role, although its moderately high profile will make careful positioning important.
Missile reach comes with a limited ammunition supply
Compared with the Pantsir-S1, the FK-2000’s missiles have a slightly lower maximum load factor, but they travel faster and reach farther than the Pantsir’s 95Ya6 missiles. The vehicle also has a higher platform speed, giving it more flexibility when air-defense positions need to change.
Its 2 PGZ-625 automatic cannons are the other major part of the loadout. Each six-barreled 30 mm weapon can fire at 4,000 rounds per minute, though the FK-2000 carries 1,000 rounds in total. That supply can disappear quickly when both guns are used at full rate, so firing discipline will matter even when an aircraft enters the gun envelope.
Where the FK-2000 will sit in China’s tree
Gaijin will place the FK-2000 between the CS/SA5 and the HQ11. Its radio-command guided missiles will complement the CS/SA5, while the vehicle’s operational range will remain below the HQ11’s. That position gives China another option for players who prefer a gun-and-missile system over a platform that relies only on missiles.
Outside the game, CASIC developed the FK-2000 from the earlier FK-1000 system. The newer vehicle replaced its predecessor’s 23 mm cannons with 30 mm PGZ-625 guns and added extended-range missiles. It was produced for export, with the United Arab Emirates as its sole customer. Some systems were later transferred to the Chadian army and the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces, while the FK-2000 did not see widespread service with China’s People’s Liberation Army.
Gaijin noted that the FK-2000’s characteristics may change before the vehicle is added to War Thunder. What do you think of its place in China’s lineup? Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram, Steam, and Telegram.
